Dear Miss Cynthia, I’m a single mother, and just moved into an apartment complex and everything is perfect so far, as far as the living arrangements; while everything is very convenient and almost perfect. I have one problem. I have two small children. One is 7 years old (boy), and the other is 10 years old (girl). The walls are pretty thin I suspect, as you can hear a lot of what is going on in the apartments beside us. The apartment next to my daughter’s room is the problem. There is a couple there, and you can hear them having sex during the late hours of the night. I’m new to the apartment complex and don’t want to be a bother to my new neighbors but what am I to do? My daughter has been sleeping in her brother’s room until I find out what I want or need to do. Please give me any suggestions, thanks a ton! -Mom in Mass Dear Mom in Mass, The best I can suggest is that you switch rooms with your daughter even if it is a smaller room. Whoever is in the adjoining apt. is, and can possibly be, forever sexually active! Your children experiencing that, even just hearing and knowing what is going on is very detrimental to their future! You could request a different apt. but the next could be worse. So, for now, switch rooms and hope they move out! You’re a good mother!
Ms. Cynthia
